Focus of Centre:

Provide flexible accredited IT and related Assistive Technology training, assessment and support to people with disabilities. The CTEC Centre forms a key role within a range of person-centred services designed to assist participants to access further education and employment, to communicate and develop independence.

The Clients

People with complex physical disabilities and people with brain injury. This includes people with congenital disabilities (e.g. cerebral palsy, spina bifida) or acquired physical disability (e.g. spinal injury, complex medical conditions) as well as people with brain injuries who have experienced significant behavioral, cognitive, emotional and physical damage.

Single storey, fully accessible purpose built Training and Resource Centre, located just outside Ballymena. The Centre covers the catchment area of the Northern Health and Social Care Trust which is mainly rural and incorporated the District Council boundaries of Antrim, Ballymena, Ballymoney, Carrickfergus, Coleraine, Cookstown, Larne, Magherafelt, Moyle and Newtownabbey.

The Centre provides a flexible support service to participants attending college courses and work experience, as well as small group training in IT, Essential Skills, Social and Life Skills, Preparation for Employment, and Independent Travel.
