Focus of Centre:
To give local people with learning disabilities the opportunity to use assistive computer technology to enhance communication and life skills, thereby improving their quality of life, independence and chance of accessing training courses. The provision of broadband is particularly popular for those wishing to access the internet or to email friends and family.
The Clients
The Centre is tailored to suit adults with learning disabilities, and is also adapted for wheelchair users. A range of assistive technology aids is available for those with limited hand coordination, as well as touch screens and appropriate software.
Anyone with a disability can use the centre and find the equipment and software beneficial and exciting to use. (Not just those who have a learning disability)
The Technology
3 workstations with touch screens and 2 further laptops. Webcams and moviemakers are also available.
Assistive Technology
Track ball mice, specialist keyboards and switches are used regularly.
Staffing
We can provide staff to support people using the centre or people can come on their own or with their own support staff.

7 days a week usually between 9am and 6pm
