Focus of Centre:

The Centre provides support, assessment and training for people with sensory impairments. The Karten Room enables people with sensory impairments to gain the maximum access to new technologies in a format appropriate to their needs.

The Clients

Clients with sight or hearing loss attend short courses/assessments in the Karten Room.

Assistive Technology

Variety of Magnification and speech software, CCTVs – which work in conjunction with a TV, standalone or portable,
scan and read equipment, a number of different styles of keyboard and mice

Monday to Friday 9am – 5pm

Specialist tuition on access technology for visually impaired people
