Focus of Centre:
The object is to enable every learner to have access to up-to-date equipment enabling them to achieve recognised qualifications and experience within training and a work experience environment. The Centre offers discrete SfL ICT and media sessions as well as work experience in magazine production, photography, radio and administration. The Centre also provides an opportunity to deliver staff training to enable all staff to keep up-to-date with ever changing equipment and resources. There is an ILT library containing a range of ILT equipment and learning technologies to promote inclusive creativity.
The Clients
The College provides education for learners with conditions including Down’s syndrome, Fragile X syndrome, Tourettes syndrome, autistic spectrum disorder, epilepsy, speech and language difficulties as well as less overt emotional and behavioural difficulties.
The Technology
Within the purpose built CTEC Centre there are 3 training rooms each containing an interactive Smartboard and 9 workstations. All workstations have broadband Internet connection, touch screen monitors, multiple printer access and a wide range of educational and creative software. There is a dedicated photography studio and radio station introducing the very latest technology.
