Focus of Centre:
To facilitate the integration of Administration, a Media production room and Linkage Office Services business training room, whilst at the same time supporting Skills for Life and work experience delivery by introducing the very latest technology. To provide access to a range of ILT equipment and learning technology packages to promote inclusive creativity.
The Clients
The College provides education for learners with learning difficulties and other associated disabilities. The current student population includes those who have conditions such as Down’s syndrome, Fragile X syndrome, Tourette syndrome, autistic spectrum disorder, epilepsy, speech and language difficulties as well as less overt emotional and behavioural difficulties.
The Technology
Three completely refurbished rooms have 32 workstations linked to a dedicated file server. All workstations have broadband Internet connection, multiple printer access and a wide range of educational and creative software. Each training room has an Interactive SmartBoard. In addition, the development of an ILT library is in progress which will provide bookable ILT resources to be used by other student groups.
