Focus of Centre:

The Karten CTEC Centre at Cwmbran allows over 30 disabled service users to:

• Improve their quality of life
• Increase their independence and communication skills
• Access basic education
• Gain business and employment skills
• Complete training and qualifications in computer-related occupations
• Operate a bureau

The Clients

50% of service users have cerebral palsy, whilst others have spina bifida, Downs syndrome and hydrocephalus. The majority have an associated learning disability, and several have epilepsy.

The Centre is situated within the Skills Development Centre on the outskirts of the town of Cwmbran, in South Wales – a fully accessible building, which has been refurbished, to provide a modern and spacious location. The layout of the Karten CTEC Centre has created an innovative and stimulating environment that is attractive to service users and includes a bureau.
