Focus of Centre:
To offer people with disabilities the chance to acquire computer skills for vocational purposes, as well as providing users with the equipment and knowledge to explore the internet for personal interest and recreation.
The Clients
The Centre caters for a wide range of disabilities, and has specific equipment for the severely visually impaired and the severely physically disabled.
The Technology
22 fully interactive networked PC’s. The equipment can be modified to ensure easy access and comfort for all through the use of height adjustable workstations, larger monitors and also touch screen monitors.
Assistive Technology
Specialised software and access devices such as speech recognition software, onscreen keyboards and scanning software help users make the most of the facility.
Any other information
The Centre is located within William Moon Lodge. Qualified Staff will teach OCR accredited courses, as well as NVQ employment training opportunities, through work placements.
