Focus of Centre:
Deliver bespoke, not for profit customer focused educational, vocational and therapeutic services to physically and sensory impaired adults and their carers throughout Essex.
The Clients
Part-time students and day centre clients, with physical and sensory disabilities.
The Technology
Ten pc’s with 19” flat screen adjustable monitors, four printers (two of which are also scanners), height adjustable desks, 63” interactive whiteboard, 2 camera’s and a camcorder.
Assistive Technology
Integra mouse, various large keyboards & keyguards, specialist software for blind and partially sighted students
Staffing
One fulltime, seven part-time and a pool of sessionary Tutors/Facilitators.
Opening hours:
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday & Friday 10.30 – 3.15 with a forty five minute break for lunch and two fifteen minute breaks morning and afternoon.
Services on offer to the network
To support and enhance the existing network by promoting learning to people who would not usually find access to leaning easy.
Partnership
We work with various other learning providers including Schoolserve.
In addition we actively encourage Service Users to look at progression into volunteering and employment. We do this by working with Job Centre Plus, Workstep, Maldon Volunteer Development Network and Seetec (Government funded Job Brokers).

Sometimes We All Need Support, SWANS are delighted to be associated with the Karten Network Trust. The investment the Trust has put into our organisation has enhanced the positive learning experience for our Service Users and allowed many more people to take advantage of the numerous benefits computers can bring.
