Services/focus of the Karten Centre
Share offers a range of vocational and personal development training programmes. Although we run digital skills programmes for people wanting to focus on computer skills, digital inclusion runs through all of our programmes from music to horticulture.

Clients
Our clients are mostly adults with a range of disabilities, but primarily learning disabilities. Over 30% of those also have autism. Our age range is generally 18-65, but we do have some projects that work with younger people (eg work with a local school for deaf children) and we don't require people to leave once they reach 65. We're a structured day service offering accredited training and independent living skills. We also run two social enterprises that offer work experience and employability training. We run a specialist employment service for people who've experienced severe mental ill health.
Disabilities
Mostly learning disabilities. Increasingly people being referred to Share also have autism. Many have particular communication needs and we're increasingly turning to technology to help us to enable and enhance communication.

Services offered to the Network
We'd be happy to share our experience and what we've learned on our digital journey! We're pretty good at using the talking photo albums to aid people's memory and retention of information. We use iPads to record a lot of work to build portfolios. We also use communication apps, and have used Pictello quite a bit.
Partnerships
We're working with Matt Harrison of Copper Blue Technology to enhance our use of digital, upskill our teaching staff, and help us to complete our digital strategy. This work has been funded by the National Lottery's Awards for All programme.
We work with Action on Hearing Loss, but not utilising digital particularly.
