Although originally founded to support children, young people and adults with Cerebral Palsy, our expertise now extends to caring for those who have a range of physical and learning disabilities, autistic spectrum conditions and complex health needs

Technology used in the Karten Centre

In 2009 Karten funded 5 purpose-built workstations, each comprising of a fully height adjustable desk with large LCD touch monitor as well as a fully interactive 50” plasma touch screen, installed on a height-adjustable trolley. 6 years later in 2015 further funding was donated and the money was put to good use updating the specifications of the ICT machines, purchasing new specialist software, Ipads, and an interactive Omiflex

Assistive Technology

We have access to a large amount of equipment to aid with communication, computer access or to support with clients' independence. Stockport CP employs a Part time Assistive Technologist who manages the various resources, carries out assessments and advises on the best way to utilise the equipment available.
