Services/focus of the Karten Centre
We have two sites (campus) which hosts a Karten Centre each. One at Toynton All Saints and one in Grimsby on Weelsby Road.
The centres hosts touch screen computers and interactive suite. At the Toynton Karten centre we have the Image Factory which enables learners to develop transferable work skills via a interactive printer. Learners are taught how to engrave delicate objects, and laser print on T-shirts etc.

Clients
Our centres are within a Independent Specialist College setting. We focus on teaching young adults with learning difficulties skills needed for work, and living independently.
Our learners are a mixture of day and residential learners. Learners attend College for three days a week and some residential learners are full time.
We have a range of courses both vocational and academic; maths, English, ICT. Our vocational courses are Horticulture, Retail, Customer Service, Creative Media, Art, Hospitality and Catering.
Disabilities
Our learners have a range of learning difficulties and disabilities ranging from; Down Syndrome, epilepsy, Asperger's, Autistic Spectrum, Hearing Impairment, Communication difficulties, amongst many others including Emotional and Behavioural difficulties.
Technology used in the Karten Centre
We use the interactive whiteboards, touch screen PCs, Image Factory equipment, iPads.

At present we do not have any other partners however, we have a considerable amount of Employers who offer our learners work experience.
Additional Information
The Karten group have given a wonderful lifeline to young people with learning difficulties and disabilities. Their enthusiasm and continued support is a rarity in a world of harsh confusions for our vulnerable young people.
The technology offered by the Karten group has enabled learners to develop transferable skills which are valuable in work placements and future life.
