Introduction to Staff Pages
E-Safety is about safe and responsible practice with technology and the sensible management of risks presented by a digital world. There is a need to educate ourselves and others about the benefits and risks of using technology and to provide awareness, skills and safeguards to enable users to take responsibility for their own and others’ online experience.
In other words, with e-Safety we are talking about being on-line on the Internet and joining up and speaking to friends, doing day to day activities such as playing games, shopping, banking and working. We need to know how to do this safely for ourselves and for others. This is what we mean by e-Safety.
E-Safety is everyone’s responsibility on both a private and professional basis. Staff (including volunteers and governors) and students should know their role in respect of e-Safety. but it is important to have an overview. In this section different activities relating to supporting learners with disabilities and managing risks in an on-line environment are looked at. In general these aspects will apply to every role.
